Fishing industry saves its positions – the lowest wage arrears index

As of 1 April 2009, according to information from organizations (that are not small business entities), the total salary debt in the monitored types of economic activity amounted to 8755 mln Rub (8.3% increase (668 mln rub)), the Federal State Statistics Service reports.
About 500,000 people ( 2% of the workforce in the monitored sectors of the economy) were affected by the arrears. About 51% of them worked at processing enterprises, 10% in agriculture, 12% in the construction industry, 8% in the transport industry, and 3% in education, public health, social service, and culture.
The wage arrears index in fishing industry is the lowest – 0.24%. As of 1 April 2009 the total salary debt in fishing industry amounted to 21 mln Rub.
